It’s December 23. In Norway, we call it lille julaften, or Little Christmas Eve.
And with this day comes some special traditions in Norway. It’s kind of the beginning of everyone’s Christmas celebrations. Many people kick things off with the television program Kvelden før Kvelden (the evening before the evening), which includes the annual viewing of Grevinnen og hovmesteren, the 1963 British sketch comedy Dinner for One.
Our family will join two other families for snacks and Kvelden før Kvelden this evening. Yes, same procedure as every year.
How will you get Christmas started? Where will you be? Do you have special traditions on this day or the days to come?
